New Member - With Evo VIII

Hello everyone!

Day 1 on the forum and is all looking promising!

Just purchased a VERY clean Evo VIII in Black, and I am loving every second of it. It is ADM, which I do get a bit of stick for, but who cares, still an Evo!

Just clocked 99,000kms, so timing belt service needs completing very soon. I actually asked for a quote for a FULL service including all fluids, belts and gaskets. $2000. Wow. Still, gotta pay it!

Anyway, she is pretty much stock, minus the 3" turbo back exhaust. I also added a turbo timer and boost gauge... As you do...

I am pretty lucky to have my dream car at only 21, but I plan to have this car for a long time! I love the 8 MR, but, a little too expensive for me!

I will need a little guidance for future mods as I am pretty new to the turbo thing, but I would like to get it up to about the 350hp mark, after all, it's a road car and don't plan on taking it to the track!

Nice purchase. If you're moderately mechanically minded you could do a lot of the work for 100k service yourself. How tos are really easy to find and most of the people on here are extremely helpful. But there are those that prefer shop work and that's cool.

350hp will be really easy. You after whp or bhp? A good ecu tune will give you over 350 bhp and your done! My setup runs around 350 whp (give or take, only done virtual dyno) and you can find the mods here:https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ga...-AndyCT9W.html

So welcome!

Thank you for the kind words. That was pretty much my plan. I am after 350whp, or there abouts. I just want to get my supporting mods done first, and make sure my car is running sweet before I even think about doing and major work!

I am one of those that prefers work to be done "properly". I am fairly confident I could do it all myself, but, with this car, I don't want to take the risk. I have serviced all my other cars myself, saving a heap of money.

Thanks for the link... I will check it out now!
