2012 Lancer SE AWC
2012 Lancer SE AWC
Hey guys, I'm new to this forum so I'll introduce myself.
My name is Tom and I started out messing with cars when I bought my 1991 Eagle Talon AWD. Had it going low 13's with bolt-on's. Eventually put a built head on it. Had a 60-1 for it and all supporting mods. Tranny went, and this being my DD I needed to get rid of it. I regret the decision now, but one day I'll get my DSM back.
Anyway once I parted out the DSM I purchased a 2009 Lancer ES 5 speed back in 08 and had that untill yesterday. The car was awesome, great gas mileage. I averaged 38mpg+ on the highway. Put in a nice system when I had the car, and only had a drop in K&N filter for it.
Yesterday I traded my Lancer with 56,600 miles in for a brand new 2012 Lancer SE w/AWC. Its black and unfortunately automatic. But I like it so far. It handles great. I leave the TC off when having fun in the snow
Here is a video of me testing the car around a slight turn. (Closed off parking lot)

was looking to getting a newish awd car, since i live in canada, and kinda tired of the fwd beater while my evo sleeps in the winter leaving the rust where it belongs not on my evo
and i was looking at getting a impreza 2.5rs 2002-2006, then i was like k i wish i could get a lancer and convert it awd, and it's totally possible, but to have a awd lancer non turbo for fuel millage as the evo's that gas guzzelling monster (actually my evo's not that bad) i was thinking ok maybe i'll get a fwd new lancer and i see the new awd model i was like :O! ****tez then i saw automatic only,...
i mean why mitsubishi suck a tease like that, just make the awd base lancer manual and then we got a competition for the 2.5rs, why only manual? it's not like they couldn't make it manual,...
would a ralliart manual transmission fit? probably so anyways
i hope they make it manual so i can get a nice awd daily economical car hehe

No because the RA uses a different drivetrain (S-AWC). The Lancer SE uses AWC from a Outlander/RVR which only come in CVT, unfortunately. I think it has to do with switching back and forth while driving. The drive train is computer simulated and it can only be engaged/disengaged in a automatic transmission. But I have no idea for sure so maybe in the future they will come with manual transmissions.
