Clutch issue

I've been on here for a while. This is my first post. Rescently returned from Iraq and bought a 2005 VIII. Today I was driving and pushed in the clutch coming up to a stoplight and it hit the floor. I pulled the pedal back up and now it won't go back down. Any input would be appriciated. Thank you

The pedal is fully out and won't move back in. I havnt checked the clutch fork. Just had the car towed to a shop because I don't have anywhere to work on it at.

lift your car with a jack, check thru the peehole thats located underneath the tranny with a flashlight and see if the snap ring is in place. hopefully it is in place..

edit; just realized that you towed it to a shop......

of course..... have them check the clutch fork to see if its engaged, i think it should be positioned half ways or more towards the passenger side, snap ring, hhhmmm. have you replaced the tranny fluid, maybe not enough fluid after it was filled.

When I modified my clutch slave cylinder (removed restriction) I had a similar problem until I had properly bled the system again. So you might consider checking that or looking for a leak. I would however think it was something else as you say it was fine until it happened.

Finallly got an answer from the shop. They are telling me it's either the snap ring or the throw out bearing.
