I just moved to japan or got moved here rather by the military. I bought an evo 4 cheap and have been driving it for 3 months when it started to cut out and idle at less than 500 Rpm and will cut out also not allowing the turbo to engage. i am not a mechanic so i took it to the shop. they changed sparkplugs and cleared a code and charged me 200 bucks! the problem persisted so i went back and they diagnosed it as a bad coil. I purchased the coil and plugs to go with it and looked up how to replace them and did it myself after seeing how simple it was. Needless to say 500.00 later i am NO better off than i was when i went there the first time. I can shut my car off and take the key out while i am driving and put it back in and start it up and it will run at 100% for a few minutes sometimes less then cut wayyyy back on the power and kill the turbo and i'll have to do it again. I am not trying to kill my starter at this point. any assistance would be VERY helpful! i saw something about a camshaft sensor or something like that? i dont know what that is and if i could get any help i would appreciate it! i am trying to learn some things and help myslef out but i need help. thanks.
