Just another new guy in the WA area

Well just like everyone else in this section i recently, but not too recently picked up an 11' with 1372 miles on it.... why so low? Looks like daddy bought his son 17 year old a new evo for his birthday and wanted an STI instead.

This car sat for about 1 year and 2 months... I had AAA pick the car up and drop it at my house. Upon arrival I drained all the fluids... I mean everything. Oil, Coolant, Diff, Tranny, Washer Fluid(lol), dropped the gas tank, and powersteering. I also replaced the battery, plugs and wires.... probably didn't need to but oh well I went a little overboard.

So the wife took me to the gas station picked up 5 gallons of 92 and filled it up... I was pretty happy. Had some gas, it was time for a quick ride to the gas station to top it off... it died within about 1.5miles down the road.... I was a little pissed and semi concerned.

Like all car owners the first thing I did was get on the phone and scream at the woman like it was her fault.... I walked around the car to notice bird feathers all over the place. Couldn't figure it out for the life of me... figured i ran over a dead bird. So I called AAA again for a tow.... and about 2 min before the driver showed up i heard some chirping... walked to the back of my car again... and sure as hell there was 3 baby black cap chicadees chillin in my exhaust. That certainly explained the feathers.

So AAA towed my car to a local exhaust shop where they hacked off my exhaust removed the birds brought them to a humane society so they could be dealt with. Lovely, so the car was back in the ****ter again. They semi rigged the exhaust for me so i could drive it home.... it sounded like *****.

Since the event, I haven't had endless amounts of free time. But now that my lift at my house has been installed the EVO will once again go on the chopping block.

I guess I came to the forums so I could get some insight on exhaust, AP's and a few other things before I spend my money ruthlessly on foolish items. So I guess I hope to see you all around. And thanks for reading my stupid story.

Dude that's crazy!

Once it's sorted, you should come out to some local meets.

The car looks brand new... Are you in Seattle or around it? I'm in Bainbridge but I make my way over to Seattle on a daily basis for work.

As of right now the car is running straight pipe until I can figure out what I am looking to do with this car and how I want to attack it. But I am always done for a meet.

That is one of the craziest things I've ever heard. Congrats on the car and good luck!

It wouldn't hurt to ask, especially since it's only an '11. Tell them the whole story and maybe they'll do it out of sympathy lol

Or just reason to put an aftermarket exhaust on now!

The wife gave me the okay to spend the extra money today on an exhaust... so in about 10-14 days i should expect an Amuse R1 Titan exhaust.... there was a side note that it could be held back as long as 30 days at customs... but they haven't had that issue in over a year.

Also ordered a set of 18x10.5 +18 SSR Type F in matte finish black

That's a crazy story 0_0

Shoot some pics and maybe even a video once you have that exhaust on, and the wheels!

Mistaken - You in the Everett area? Any chance you went to the Dicks meet on 12/31/12?
Wasn't too big of a meet, but caught a pretty cool picture there..

Damn ya I missed this one due to a work failure. I'll do my best to make the next. I'll shoot some photos of my exhaust install along with the wheels when they show up.
