New Evo X Owner

Hi guys,

I may sound very boy racer right now, but i recently bought an Evo X as a way of switching it up a little and i dont know very much about cars! I was a previous 335i owner and loved that car, although i thought it was time for change!

Please disregard how stupid i sound here but here i go..

On the way home an s15 flew past me and all i heard was a extremely nice sounding BOV going "psssshhhhhhh", making me very very jealous..

How can i make the evo have this blow off? What parts do i need to buy? Is a aftermarket exhaust necessary?

Again im sorry for this question and ill just shoot myself before you guys do it

Most of us will advise you against getting a BOV that will exhaust that loud. Too rice.

Get an intake and a tune and you will be able to hear it more, you just won't hear it the extent you heard the car that went by you.

BOV's that vent to the atmosphere aren't recommended for the X.

By the way, congrats on the car and enjoy it!

Congrats on the EvoX.

I thought the same thing when I got mine. I was expecting that turbo sound which it didnt have. Still super fun to drive. However I got an ETS intake and it really made a difference. Now Its getting a bunch of upgrades and tune. So I cant wait for that to be completed.

I agree. I just bought my ETS intake and put it on my evo earlier last week. It's made a big difference and you can hear the BOV better.

IMO...I would just focus on getting a intake and a different exhaust instead of just jumping straight into getting a new BOV because you want to hear it more...like someone said earlier..it sounds ricey. But to each their own And congrats on the new car!

If you really want a nice BOV that will give you the sound, look at the turbosmarts. They are hybrid BOVs, but still give of a nice PSSSSH sound.

hey guys,

By saying intake, what do you mean? im from australia so not sure where to get them from here..

Are you referring to a air intake filter?
