get the X with navigation, youll miss the little luxury things that the m3 comes w/ standard.. the navi is about the only good option on the evos.. its always good to have it when going on family trips

...or you could just use your cell phone and Google Maps...

A friend of mine bought an E92 M3 a few months ago. Its gorgeous. Its bigger than I thought it would be but a nice car. Not my taste but nice. Good luck on the Evo if you decide to get it.

Yeah, the E92 is a bit of a whale, but is just as catchable as other, smaller M3s, mostly because of the low polar moment. At the risk of insulting the thread-starter, if you prefer the handling of an STi (or Evo) to an M3, then you're not doing it right. A lot of people who have been driving AWD for a while have issues when they get in a powerful RWD; they have taught themselves to stomp the gas pedal, letting the AWD system keep them out of trouble. When they get in a RWD, this habit caused power-on over-steer. But after they get used to it, the ability the steer the car with your right foot becomes an absolute joy.

No insult taken....I think that for my needs though (Chicago winters, and occasional auto-x) the Evo fis a better fit. The other reason I think the M3 is becoming a bit stale is because I like the ability to modify a car and change it over time. It's as if you're getting a new car when you mod. That's why I held on to the STi for 4 years. I don;t plan on modding the M3 because it's too expensive, too risky, and the bang for the buck is too low. The Evo can be modded reliably and relatively cheaply in comparison

In that case, until your boys are all in their teens (and can't all fit in the back), an Evo X sounds perfect for you. I completely agree that modifying an Evo is more straight-forward and gratifying than messing with M3s.

Ok! trade the e92 for the 2011 e90 and bingo seating for five. Then if your looking for raw! Supercharge that b#&ch.
Im sorry i came for an x but i havent looked back. I love my e90 ///M and i also have 3 kids no space issues here. The evo truck is a pita. Trust me you will miss that 8300 rpm screamer. Good luck to you either way.

I'll tell you this, I had a new STi and I hated it, soft handling/steering poor quality interior, worse than the EVO X IMO, ringland issues. No driving excitement for me. Has a nice transmission though. EVO X is so much better. That's what I have now.

Ive actually been debating on trading the STI for an EVO or E92 M3. I love the car but the ringland issue is kinda scaring me...

Went to test drive the Evo last night. I really liked it. Much faster than I thought it would be coming from the M3. Fantastic handling and great seats. Very tight and controlled. Starting the negotiation process so I'm trying to be disciplined.

A few thoughts though:

-I think I'll pass on the OEM Nav and rear parking sensors and go aftermarket. ANy recommendations?
-I' would eventually like to use the stock wheels for winter (and winter tires) and get new wheels for the summer. Do the stock tires fit on a larger wheel?

I really like the leather. It looks and feels really nice.

I found a brand new 2013 WW GSR with SS pkg, Sunroof/leather, LED ill. pkg,

$36,4xx

Good deal?
