If you have $0 in savings, then modding should be the least of your worries, let alone affording an Evo to begin with.

There's a guy in the forums who's been driving his Evo for 300k miles. And I think he had to change the engine somewhere in the 200's

I don't think he had to "change" the engine. Something broke, he fixed it.
