The search for a nice Evolution IX SE begins
Hello!
Ive been a lurker here for a long time, I think its finally time to scratch the Evo itch! I have started looking for a nice SE to play with for nice weather and occasional race use. Currently selling my E46 M3 to make room:

Ive also recently owned a Lotus Elise, E28 M5, and a built GTX3076 GR STI!
I will be getting deeper into the technical discussions on engine and suspension while looking for the right car. Finding a super clean SE will be tough, if you know anyone thinking about selling, have them send me a PM

Yeah I'm not expecting it to go quickly, hoping to have it by winter though. As long as its under 40k miles and is very well maintained/clean I'll be happy.
Yes, yes, and absolutely!
Hoping to find something near a reputable shop experienced with the platform so they can do a full PPI. Would likely have all fluids changed and basic maintenance done to be safe.

The Lotus Elise was amazing, and it was supercharged making around 225whp. Doesn't sound like much, but it was very quick at 1890lbs. Mechanical grip was silly, and it was easy to drive as it communicated absolutely everything. Didn't have much done, Sector111 Katana supercharger, Quantum coilovers, rare SJ Racing Leggero wheels with Dunlop ZII, and a bunch of minor stuff.
Things it was not: comfortable, easy to work on, spacious, quiet.
It was also very annoying to get gas as every third person had something to say about my income, their income, or the 600 horsepower mustang they owned that would "whip it"(in addition to the 1997 rusty Explorer they were driving).

Lol. I hear ya. My wife rides a 07 600RR and always has people approaching her. I can imagine a lotus would yield similar results.
And I can see how that would get annoying. People seem to forget there are purpose built cars made to handle very well vs straight line performance.
I use to own an 05 RX-8 and I loved the 50/50 weight distribution as it made the car very grippy but lacked tremendously in power.
