ok, so im gonna paint my valve cover myself. Im gonna use this anodized red color i found at AZ. I was just wondering do i need to do anything before i take off the valve cover? or is there something that when i take it off that needs to be replaced when i put it back on? bla bla bla... u see where im goin with this.

havent done this to my car, but I can tell you don't reuse original valve cover gasket.

 

Degrease your valve cover first or else the paint wont stick well.
You can still use the same gasket, just be careful and dont tighten the bolts too hard.
