Hello! Time for introductions!

Hello! I’m Josh and just picked up a 98 Evo V in Japan. I’m completely new to actually using a forum as before I would just creep and find the information I was after. Very new to how forums even work and the whole interface. Found myself coming back here over and over for different questions so I figured I would join. Used to have an Evo IV a few years ago and used one of the threads here to swap out the clutch. I’m good with mechanical and can learn pretty quickly. As of right no I’m driving an 00’s Suzuki Swift while I await delivery of my Evo. From what I can see and the sellers description it has quite a few mods. Not too concerned about something be damaged as I can fix it (or use that as an excuse to upgrade) money isn’t really too much of an issue. My main issue is going to be jobs I can complete over the weekend as this will be my daily and hopefully occasional track car. More than happy to meet more of you guys here and sorry in advance for making every dumb decision or wanting to do something that is seen as stupid or pointless. Bottom line is I loved my Evo IV and I want to love my V just as much and really make it my own. As far as goals go.. I want something fun. I would like to go for more low to mid range power because speed is great but acceleration always feels better. Feel free to introduce yourself or say hey.

Alright Josh @jetjockeyjosh

Cant really start off w/a better post than the one you have done! EvO looks great is already setup for track day work. My EvO9 looks almost the same as yours w/the rear seats removed & a rear roll bar.

Make yourself at home & post up anytime. If you plan to do some changes / modifications to your EvO, make a post in the Project Car Forum so we can follow what youre doing

Cheers, Joe

Thank you very much! I love the cage but I’m thinking about possibly pulling it for the day to day and just throwing it back in when it’s time to hit the track. Gotta find a back seat and belts. Also whoever had the car before me replaced the driver seat.. 🤮
