Hello Everybody
Mitsubishi just opened a dealer network in Canada and is now selling directly to Canadian consumers. The only Mitsu I've ever owned was an 88 Colt sold as a Dodge.
My current transportation is a 1997 Dodge Neon. I'm thinking of buying a Lancer.

Anything I should know/ask/look out for? Rust claimed my Colt. Is it still a big problem in the salt belt? What about packages? What's good, what's not?
Any help is appreciated.

Congrats on the dealership packages hmm
As far as i know the Es, Ls, and OZ are all the same.
Oz=a Glorified ES. Meaning ground effects, rear sway bar, nicer wheels, So called aluminum brushed dash, Rear spoiler and dark grey interior. Although there are some with two toned leather
Ls=Es with Abs
Es= Base model, nothin special
I also think some may have an option of a sun roof.
Thats about it.
Good luck choosing. I think you should wait for the Evo 8 though.

I believe that the OZ also has a sturdier suspension. Waiting for the EVO 8 also means paying the difference from $29,999 and $15,000. You will get a lot more car with the EVO but you will also pay a lot more. Personally, I am having lots of fun with my OZ rally. I am making modifications little by little. I am not interested in recing but in having a car that is fun to drive. For the price I believe the OZ is a deal.
Well, I think the ES is a far better deal, especially for a tuner. I mean, the fact that the ES can use Mirage components for suspension (all the goodies, not just springs), means that whereas the OZ has one option for aftermarket struts, and the ES has many now.
Sorry, 3-4K extra for a gauge cluster, floormats, 15" wheels, a minor body kit, and a rear sway bar? That's a rip off.
