gas mileage

Hi everyone,

A couple of my buddies have told me that after they put their headers in their cars they got better gas mileage. One of my buddies has cai and exhaust and said he was getting about 270 or 280 before he put his header in and now he is getting about 340. I was just wondering if this has any truth to it. I am saving to get the RRM headers and was wondering from you guys that already have headers if your gas mileage was effected.

OMG! I was just going to post this up. after I was done with my mods I have been getting 350-400 miles to the tank and no I don't drive like a grandma. right now I am at the 1/2 mark and have driven 221 miles on this particular tank. I usually beat on my car badly. like every gear I at least hit 4500 RPM. I have a kamikaze header and down pipe, custom catback exhuast and custom cold air intake. I was a little worried. may be I am running too lean and that may damage something in my motor. any advice be great.

I know on my previous car a 2002 wrx I installed a turboback exhaust and my gas milage went up at least a few miles to the gallon. It was awesome!
