Question Oil change issue

I just bought my new EVO . I have about 1800miles on it and am wondering about changing the oil. Mitsubishi told me when i bought it that all oil changes must be done at the dealership or it will effect my warranty. Mitsubishi is going to charge me an arm and leg to get Mobil 1 Synthetic oil changes done. My question is, can i get the oil changes elsewhere? Is what Mitu saying to me all BS? Thanks

That’s a bunch of BS! It sounds to me like the sales man is trying to make more money for the dealership by lying. My dealer charged me $80 to rotate the tires and change the oil + it takes them about 4 hours . I do all my own tire rotations and oil changes (Mobile 1 & K&N oil filter) in my driveway now and it only takes me an hour plus I save about $50. You will have no problems with voiding the warranty as long as you change the oil with in the specified amount of miles per your service manual and use the correct oil.

When I bought my lancer, the dealership said take my car in ever 3,000 miles for a oil and air filter change, they dont charge me nothing for it. Never heard of the dealership voiding your warranty because of not taking your car there for matenience, sounds like there pulling a scam on ya.
