boost questions

ok, I have a lancer ES with cai and palning on getting greedy exhuast.What esle should I get if i was going to turbo my car?I still want to drive it every day so how much psi of boost do i want to run?Iam thinking about the rrm kit,if you have it what do you think of it?or if you dont what have you heard about it? thanks for any imput.

i dont have it but...everyone has thier own feelings on it... personally i think its worth it...if you dont want to go custom....

by the way im selling my greddy exhaust for 320 plus ship...let me know if youd be interested

how much boost you rund depends on what kit oyu get and what kind of transimission you have.

if you have a manual then you can run 7psi. thats what i run im fine. i think for an auto they suggest 5psi.

i have a manual,so no problems for you how long have you had it?did you put it on yourself ?if so was it easy?

ive had it only for about 2000 miles. i had two friends help me put it on that have installed many turbos before. they say it was one of the easier ones to put on. i wouldnt have installed it by myself tho. if you havent installed one your self before or dont have a knowledgeable person to help, i dont suggest trying to do it yourself.

If I can install pistons with very little outside instruction and no prior experience then you can install a turbo with phone or internet support. It will take a few days though if you've no prior experience. Having a service manual helps too.

I'm aware there's a difference between assembly and reasasembly, but I think there are enough similarities that, if you're comfortable with it and have some free time, you can definitely do it yourself.

EDIT: Oh. To answer the original question 6-7 PSI and try reading around. You may be jumping the gun a bit here already worrying about boost settings.

if youre going to try adn do it yourself then id suggest reading over the insructions several times beforehand.
