Hello from a new member

Hey guys ... I've been visiting this forum ever since I installed a CAI on my Lancer OZ. Since then I have caught the tuning bug from all of you guys. I wish mods didn't cost so much because as I save my money I keep changing my mind as to what to do next. At first I was just going to add all of the NA mods from rrm ... (header, greddy exhaust , TB, IM, and piggy) but now I just want to save up for their Turbo kit. The wait is killing me. I have no Idea what to do. Buy the cheap stuff one at a time, or save and get the turbo then add the other stuff on top. GRRR. How much would I save on shipping if I ordered the NA stuff all at once ... RRM??

I'm sure I'm not the only one facing this decision so feel free to add in your .02

The only real question here is about the shipping ...

P.S.

Please don't mention to use the search function I have and reading all of those posts only makes me want to be irresponsible and throw all of it on my visa

Be sure you know something about cars before you get a turbo cause they require quite a bit of work. You probably wouldn't save a whole lot on shipping by getting everything at the same time, just keep your eyes open for group buys on stuff to save alittle money.
Probably don't wanna use the phrase "tuning bug" either.

Glad you joined us on this site I would like to give a little advice before tuning anything on your car too much especially major stuff like turbo and internal engine parts learn a little more about your car. Buying parts one at a time for misc. upgrades is very expensive, and frequently results in mistakes. This requires fixes and more parts/labor which ups price even more.

Instead Figure out the end result; what do you want your car to look like, perform like, sound like etc when its all done. Then figure out how to get it there and what parts and features will work best together. Then figure out which mods need to take place first for safety reliability and performance. Example you wouldn't want to put a huge turbo on before you upgrade your exhaust. Its almost like working backwards but I would highly recomend doing it that way over just buying this part or that part because it would do a little good here or there.

Thanks for the advice .... as far as looks I will probably stay very close to stock. For performance I don't want to do anything that is going to hurt my car or make it unsafe to drive ... I bought my lancer becuase when I test drove it it just felt like the right car for me ... what can I say I fell in love. Now that I've had my car for almost 2 years ... and knowing that I'm going to be driving it for at least 4 more I really want to get her to around 200 hp. I've driven many cars in the 200 to 250 hp range and I'd like my lancer to be able to keep up. After reading up I know that the RRM turbo kit installed on a stock lancer will give around 200 whp and be safe as a daily driver. but since I don't have 4000 to spend now I was thinking of the bolt on mods that RRM sells which will all only enhance the turbo once I get that installed and still be safe on the stock internals. correct me if my assumption that headers, catback, throttle body, intake manifold, piggyback and stage 2 turbo, all from rrm will make a safe and impressive gain in performance for my lancer oz, and will all work well together.

Sounds like you have done your homework since your last post. The setup you described will certainly give you an impressive gain on your OZ. Im not sure exactly how much pressure that stage 2 turbo will have but keep in mind the higher the pressure the more of a beating your engine takes while its engaged. With the exhaust system you described that should open it up enough to run a decent amount of pressure though.
