26 Hp

Is this true that the K&N Typhoon Short Ram Intake can get you up to 26 hp:

dont expect much hp gain from an intake.. let alone from any other NA mods. however, it will give you better throttle response and make it a little more torque'y. our lancers dont respond that well to an intake as compared to other cars

i wouldnt even say it would make that much. 2hp at the very most. if you could make 26hp jsut from a filter then mitsu would be putting these in at the factory and charging a couple more K for teh car. shouldnt this be in the engine tech forum or really be in the newbie forum?

5hp at the most for a CAI on lancers? Umm has anyone seen the dyno charts from AEM? The cold air intake on a stock lancer was a 9horsepower increase at its highest point. And i'm sure any ebay cold air intake would do the same since its the same principle. I just installed my ebay 65 dollar cold air intake. Pretty easy install, minimal fitting required, everything pretty much bolted up. Really nice too, came with blue hose fittings although they shorted me one, nice polished metal pipe, air sensor adapter fit perfectly, etc. I noticed a huge increase in power. Before the intake stock i couldnt hang with my friends intake/headers/cat/exhaust 99 Civic, now after the intake i hold on him straight through 2nd gear. Plus the sound is damn mean, full throttle almost sounds like i have a mellow exhaust on the car. $220 for an AEM intake was too much price for the power, but the 65 dollars shipped price from ebay was definitly the best bang for the buck for this car so far. I highly recommend.

manufacturers lie, there is no lancer that gets 9hp just from a cai. maybe if you had tons of supporting mods so that is has a synergistic effect. aems dyno chart means nothing.
