I'm picking her up tomorrow...
I will be the newest member of this cru. A silver 2003 EvoVIII is gumby mine, new from Country Mitsu in Huntington, NY
I ran the lease out on my 02 GMC Envoy, and will put the 91 BMW M3 on the side, although I really still love that car, I am just a bit hooked on this HP thing. I like the way the Evo handles, I cant wait to compare it to the M. (strictly on handling and braking fronts) That M can STOP! And it goes where I tell it to. We'll see. This car must have been on the lot forever, no? I got a good deal on it. If i put the money i saved on it over ordering an 05 into mods, well, i'd have HP coming out my a#$ ! i gotta go find a clever quote now. |
Congrats on your new Evo! I'm a new Evo owner in NY too. Enjoy it, I'm sure you will. {thumbup}

Welcome aboard!
|
welcome.. have a blast here:)
|
i was wondering where all the girls were. nice to see you here. hope to have some indepth discussions on which fuzzy steeringwheel cover looks best.
j/k !!!! seriously...much respekt all the female cru....big up! |
Welcome. Not sure about the fuzzy steering wheel though. j/k

You prob won't dissapointed with the handling. As far as brakes, I'm not impressed. My non-Brembo 350Z stop much harder than the EVO with Brembos, but I'm cool with it. Power wise, add some basic mods and you won't want to drive the M ever again.
Congrats. |

60-0 Stoping distance: 113 ft- 350Z track (with brembos) 60-0 Stoping distance: 110ft- Evo 8 I don't think your non brembo brakes stop harder than the evo. Not much difference between the 350 and evo with brembos though. BTW congrats on the car. You will love it. |

I never measured in feet how the 350Z stopped in comparison to the EVO, but I'm speaking from personal experience that the Z non-Brembo brakes bit harder than the Brembos on my EVO. The EVO takes more pedal pressure to than it did on my Z. Since you never owned a Z, STFU.
Have a nice day. |
No....but my fiance does--- an orange track version with nav. Why do you think I posted the track version specs? Thanks for asking though.:shoot:

There are a few "new" aka never titled '03s in the area for sale asking in the 26K neighborhood. Wondering how much they should actually go for (ball park of course). Thanks, Ron |
sure RonA, shouldnt be any big secrets here... It was 28k even. so 26 sounds really good, id give the extra 2k since mine was from a pretty metro area. so mine was 2k under list. Which will do nicely in the mods shoppingcart.

about the B R A K E S!!!!
now my rotors were rusty when i took it for a test drive, and wasnt impressed even by the end of the drive. but, now thiat i've gotten a few 100-60 slows in them, furiously smoked the pi$$ out of them twice, they're feeling quite grippy. I know the pads are the weakest link here, they fade very quickly. Ive been using carbon metallic brakes on the M for a while, and they're outstanding all around. I still have some light grooves and discolored areas on thje rotors, a week or so and they should be all smooth and shiny, assuring me of full contact of the pads, as well as even wear. I do say when cold, i can really execute some serious high speed late braking, and I like it!! |

On my fourth (yes fourth) set of rotors and pads courtesy of Mitsubishi and Porcaro in Racine, Wi...(thx guys ;) ) One day I will replace the pads becasue the rotors warp like the Millenium Falcon.. Watch those brakes m3charles and welcome to the wonderful world of Evo!! :D |
