I'm trying to get a better deal on a evo

after seeing in the bulletin about your out the door price on the new evoIX. i'm trying
to trade it to some other dealership to see if they can make me a better offer, if not
should sell it privately but i think nobody would. since i got screwed for paying out the door for 55k. i haven't made my first payments on it which is 755 mouth
what would u guys if u were in my situation. i love evos and don't want any other cars. my freinds said trade it in for 06 civic SI i said hell no.. i rather get another evo
or evo mr. cuz this mouth payment suck. if dealers won't help me for better offer,
then i guess i'll degrade to a civic SI.

even if you went to an SI with that much negative equity you need a huge down payment. Lenders wont go no more than 125% of the MSRP of the car.

Swift2Fly Aug 20, 2006 11:24 PM

sorry but you allowed them to screw you with 55K OTD..DAYAM!

speedracer2169 Aug 20, 2006 11:26 PM

well he's probably in a different market where there is no competition i hope

SP00LIN Aug 20, 2006 11:26 PM

I call BS - no way $55k. That's about the same as two RS's! ROFL - come on now, tell us the rest of the story.

speedracer2169 Aug 20, 2006 11:32 PM

Most likely he had a trade in with negative equity that's how he got such a high OTD

Evo9"Miss Rose" Aug 20, 2006 11:34 PM

55k???!!?!?! what part of the states are you from again??????

speedracer2169 Aug 20, 2006 11:37 PM

actually come to think of it 55k is including interest

speedracer2169 Aug 20, 2006 11:40 PM

so technically he probably paid around 40k for his with a 9ish interest rate at a 72 month term

Evo9"Miss Rose" Aug 20, 2006 11:42 PM

dang 9% thats major Weak Sauce!!!! {thumbdwn}

speedracer2169 Aug 20, 2006 11:44 PM

eh the average bank rate right now for an auto loan is about 6%. That's a non subsidized loan

First off, learn proper grammer. Next, I can not believe you paid 55k for an evo and at almost $800 dollars a month, jesus christ! Froget getting a civic si, get a civic ex.

You didn't get screwed; you screwed yourself. Was someone holding a gun to your head when you purchased the vehicle? You put no money down, because you also wanted to buy a bike, you agreed to the price and the monthly payments, and now you expect someone to buy your car back? That's just ludicrous! Seeing how many threads you started displaying your dissatisfaction with the Evo's personality, it also sounds like you knew very little about the car before you bought it - not smart, either. Buy an inexpensive car to get you around and get out of debt that'll be with you for years. WTF were you thinking when you decided to skip a downpayment, because you wanted another toy? How did you expect to meet the fanatical obligation?

I didn't think any bank would give someone a loan with so much negative equity to start with. Even assuming that $55k is the total price of the loan if taken to term. If you are looking for a payoff, then you should not go by that amount. Call your bank and ask for a payoff amount. It's going to be much lower, but still well, well above what the car is worth.

You would be losing even more money by trying to get rid of the car right now. So unless you absolutely can't afford that monthly payment, then there's no point in getting rid of the car.

+1

Probably owed 20k on the car he traded in or something and you cant count that. If you did pay 55k for an EVO well then you have bigger problems to worry about than how you are going to sell your car.
