what's a good intake
hi guys, my 05 evo 8's been hesitating and backfireing off and on for some time now, i am running a aem short ram intake, turboback exhaust, n e way, found out that the nipple that connects through the bottom of the intake was cracked and was leaking vaccum providing less air into the engine, and also the hole that the aem intake has to fit the nipple has very weak fittment, the vaccum nipple does not provide a tight fit so i am still hesitating. i tried siliconing around the entire edge of the vaccum nipple and it worked for a while and now the exhaust is popping again and hesitating a little bit when i rub it up high. so i just gave up and am planning to buy a new intake w/ a better nipple connection, i was wondering what's a good company, i was thinking of hks yellow sponge looking intake???

hks rs and injen are the best two out in my opinion...

Put the stock intake back in if u have jus the exhaust and running on low mods. If u have the tune for the intake then get injen or hks or etc.

hks rs

Stock intake works best until you start seriously modding...

ARC induction box with the Cusco Intake Pipe.

str8kor....Are you tuned for your intake ?
If not, then there's your problem. For me, the stock air box with a drop-in KN filter works. I believe you can get around to 380+whp on the stock air box. |
The best piping is the HKS RS but get one AMS or K&N cone instead of they cone.
HKS filter is sucks.i think the AMS cone with adaper around $50.. if you under around 350 WHP you better off with the dropp in. |

Stock intake with K&N filter. You'll have less problems.

HKS or Buschur Racing
|
I have an HKS pipe with a Buschur filter on - love it. The sound alone is worth the cost & effort.

I am using the Apexi power intake, you might want to consider that.
