Can't boost pass 15lbs
The evo has been driving and running great for the pass couple of weeks. Last night I took the evo out for a spin and gunned the evo for the first time in a couple of weeks. I noticed that the evo picked up much faster and harder then normal at about 4000 rpm. The car continues to pull hard until 5200 rpm then just doesn't pull anymore. It's almost like boost cut at 5200. I looked at my boost guage and notice at 5,000 rpm the boost stopped at 15lbs, psi, whatever you wanna call it. I know that stock boost is about 19lbs and my car has been hitting stock boost everytime I gunned the car until last night. Any thoughts? Car is an 03 evo VIII, mods are AEM air intake and HKS bov, everything else on car is stock. Any help I can get would be great!

Do a search, tons of people have asked the same questions before. ...might wanna check your vacuum lines for a boost leak.

I think i only saw ones that it hit 18psi, but as soonest i got rid of the stock exhaust, and got my TBE install, i was hit 20-21 pounds everytime i gunned it. |
Check for a boost leak.
Is your BOV venting to atomsphere? If it is put the stock back on because your playing with fire. Did you get tuned with that intake? If you didn't you're really asking for trouble. |
