Help please! underhood bushing doesn't fit

Hello guys, I am in the middle of the installation of the underhood bushings I got from Speed source. The kit comes with 2 brass bushings, I got one in with no problems, but the other one, which is a lot bigger, would never fit in my shifter cable, I have an Evo IX 5 speed, it is JDM, and the 2 bushings under the battery tray are identical, so did I get a bigger bushing from speed source by accident or is my car different from 5-speed USDM evos? Any help is much appretiated, and by the way I did search but nobody seems to have this problem :(
Thanks in advance!

Do they have a 6 speed kit? I think theres a difference between the 5 and 6 speeds. Might want to check that out.

Sounds like your cables are different than the USDM Evo. The USDM Evo has one small and one large bushing. If one fits but the other doesn't, contact speedsource and see if they have a kit that works. I'm willing to bet that their kit for the old 4G63 cars (GVR-4, 1G and 2G DSMs) will work on yours.

Thanks guys, I got the kit for the 5-speed, but the cables on my evo are definately different since I have two small bushings instead of one big and one small. I will contact speed source and ask them about that older bushing kit {thumbup} Thanks a lot

seems like we are having the same problem Evoardo. Mine is a JDM as well. (we only have JDM where I live) Does using 2 small ones solve the issue? The small ones seems too small tho. Do you have any pics that you can upload for me for reference?

This is my thread asking for help. Do u mind if you take a look at it to see if its the same issue?

Had a similar issue, they do include sanding paper to help install. I used a dremmel to save me time. Dremel'd the ring that holds the bushing. Then make sure you use a good hightemp copper grease to prevent binding in the future.
