Well, I finally did it, and I couldn't be happier.

I recently traded in my 2003 WRX for a WW Evolution IX. Right off the bat, I was reading the reviews regarding the car vs. the STI. The 4g63 has a strong history, and to be honest, I was growing extremely tired of the boxer sound. To me it sounded like a muffled harley davidson. I did lots of mods to it including a twinscroll jdm swap only to realized that I could have had that power right out of the box with the EVO. I hated the exterior of the Subaru although the interior was ok. The steering ratio literally makes me salivate when a turn is coming. A total night and day difference from the WRX. The steering wheels is also smaller which makes it much easier to drive. LOVE the factory short shifter! And get this, my wife actually likes the recaro seats better. I guess its because when I take a tight turn, she doesn't end up in my lap anymore. (yah I know all of you may think thats not a bad thing :D ) Anyhow, just wanted to say hello to everyone, and thank for providing the information on all the questions I asked before I purchased. This community hands down has ALOT more mature people than the NASIOC site. FTR I am 31 years old. I do believe the actual NASIOC forum helped sway my decision. It seems I had to avoid more junk responses than I did legitimate. You'd be amazed how many people on there don't know jack about cars. Now, along with my 87' Buick Grand National, my garage gives me two unbelievable choices on what to play with. Thanks all for the help in my decision and I look forward to getting more information as I start to tear into her. :) AMS will get to know me real well.

Now the only problem is....what to drive today. :D

Yeah. I'm going to put this in Evo General.

EDIT: Better yet, Newbie Forum would be more appropriate.

LOL congrats on the purchase! Going from a WRX to an EVO is night and day! Let us know if there is anything we can do for you. Welcome to the EVO family!

Thank you! Look forward to having my car tuned by you guys. Heard nothing but good things and that you are the midwest connection when it comes to the Evolutions. More power soon enough!

That is a shame. I could never dream of going back.

Really? Damn. I think the Subaru boxer exhaust sounds very good. Better than any 4 banger on the market off the top of my head.
The Evo sounds like, well, kinda like a Honda. Puts on flame suit.

BUT the Evo will outperform the WRX in every way.

Either way I do like both cars. And I've owned them all: 03 WRX, 05 STi, 06 EVO

Congrats! I sold my 02 WRX last year and picked up an evo. I miss it every now and again but it doesn't top the evo!
