Question about the stock evo 9 HID's...

does anyone know if the stock EVO9 HID's have a leveling motor, or if its literally just a bulb and ballast behind the lens?

i am trying to decide if i should go for a GSR rather than an SE or SSL of an HID upgrade isnt a big deal

thanks in advance

on lots of cars (audis, astons, etc...) the HID headlights have a self leveling motor so that that headlights are always aimed at the road appropriately. in my 02 s4, the lights would turn on as if an eyelid was raising really quickly... they "flicked up". i know most HID systems have leveling motors. didnt know if the mitsus did

its not automatic, the Evos with factory HID's have a switch in which you can move the lights up and down.

I do notice though when I turn on my lights it takes a quick second for the HIDs to level out.

All Hids do that.

The leveling motor is one of the nice things about OEM hids.I had a Corolla XRS before my IX I put a set of HIDs in to it they would have been nicer with the ability to not blind everyone coming at me..

No there is no leveling motor..:lol:

evos like to cut back on weight no power seats so u accually think theres a leveling motor for the headlights :lol:

we have a switch that adjusts them manually...

As for the lights flickering on and taking a second to look like there working its because they have to warm up to the appropriate burning temp thats all..

oOo okay, thanks for the clearing that up for me.
