I'm new! (looking to buy an Evo finally!)

Hi everyone. I've been playing around with DSMs's like the talon and eclipse for a while and I finally feel the need to go out and buy myself an Evo. I think i'm ready to take that step.

Does anyone have any advice for what I should do? I'm from PA and i't's really hard trying to find an Evo here in PA.

Basically i'm looking for an Evo with around 300-350 hp that can be my RELIABLE daily driver... Unlike my Eclipse and Talon haha.

Welcome brother! Where in PA are you located? I'm from Philly and there are a couple around here for sale that are pretty good. If you find a stock one, intake-exhaust-MBC-and a tune you will have good #'s. Good luck and keep us updated.

Thanks!

I'm basically about 40 minutes away from pittsburgh.

What kinda price range on those Evo's in Philly?

welcome. actually there are a bunch of Evos for sale in the tri-state area (perhaps u can drive up). and a whole bunch on eBay. and yes, eBay could be a source of good cars. u just have to do a lot of question-asking before u bid :)

as far as what to buy, well its a toss up. u can buy a car with bolt-ons already, or buy stock, and do all your own work. the issue is that 99% of all evos are or at some point have been modified, so even if u buy a stock car, chances are, it was returned back to stock form, prior to sale to you....

your 300-350Whp goal is easily attainable with most evos. basic bolt-ons and a tune, will typically give u low 300's (all-wheel hp) on an Evo 8, and even a bit higher than that, on a IX.

Prices have also dropped recently... so its a buyers market.

in general, the rule of thumb is read a lot of the stickies here on the forum, and then be careful when u buy. take your time, dont rush, or fall for the first Evo u see... evos are pretty darn reliable, as long as they were well maintained.

good luck

Welcome man. The Philadelphia and surrounding area are full of evos. It should be hard to find one. I was in your shoes once and couldnt wait to get one. Then when i finally had the money i couldnt find one anywhere in philly. I wanted to purchase an evo from a dealership because im always worried about warrantys etc but i have had the car for 2 years and its awesome.
I finally found the perfect car that i was looking for but i had to go to Turnersville NJ for it. It was mint. Only 2,7500 miles on it and was flawless. Had to fork our about $36000 for it with tax and title. Sometimes i wonder why i paid that much but it has such low miles. Just search on Craigslist.com or call up every Mitsu:mitsu: dealership and you are bound to find one. There are also loads of people selling theirs on the Forums. Just let your fingers do the walking cuz theres alot around:updown:
