Don't own one yet.

Whats up everyone. Im in the market for an Evo ix and in my searches came across this forum so I figured I would just sign up. Im buying an Evo as a fun modding/Racing/Show car. Ive gone to pull the trigger on two Evo's so far but they both sold out under me, so right now I'm in limbo just looking for another one.

I have been an active member on other forums. I was an active member of Mazdas247.com. I drove a Mazdaspeed Protege with a GT3040R swap and a ton of other stuff done to it.

Im also frequently on northamericanmotoring.com, my wife is a big time Mini fan. Drives an 08 cooper S

My current DD is an 07 Legacy GT. I love my DD but I want something more sporty that I don't need to be reliable.... Thats why Im here.

Im sure ill be spending a lot of time here.... Now just got to find a car to buy.

Yeah I guess the way I wrote that it seems like I want to do all those things. I really don't know exactly what I will purpose the car for. Ill probably just start tinkering with it and see what direction it goes.

If I could do it again. I would buy a roller and build it to my liking. I am still fixing crap from the previous owner. I have literally changed everything major on the car. T case, trans, and now engine. Stock turbo also went out a month after owning it. I don't beat on the car it's it was my daily but you never no what your getting into when you pick up a used one. This was from a "reputable" shop as well. Now it's not a daily, it's going to be a monster.

I thought about buying a shell and just doing it all up, but I want to expearience the car as it's built. Get familiar with it in stock form and evolve from there. I know any car I buy will likely have some gremlins but it's par for the course.

Good luck with you build.

Yes that is true. I am happy the way things are going because of my lack of experience coming into the evo game. Its amazing how fast you learn when you break everything possible. haha ok back on topic

I started tinkering like you want to do and now I wound up with a monster haha just don't get in over your head (at least financially!).
