VIII's don't you love em

Hi people,
I've been an evo 8 owner for 12 years now but sadly had to say goodbye to my FQ300 a few weeks ago due to a tree jumping out in front of it, however the good news is that I now have it's replacement which is an FQ330, Happy days are here again.
I've joined up with you guys having discovered my new car has been slightly modded with a dodgy after market bleed valve instead of using its boost solenoid as it was originally designed to. ( not over pleased by this :( )
I have attempted to re plumb the beast back to its original speck but it seems as though the boost solenoid is not functioning as it should.. ( no boost pressure ) but it does boost perfectly with the cheepo ebay brass valve fitted.

Any one got any suggestions? Maybe fit a stand alone boost controller or something similar. What do you guys recommend?

Grimmspeed has a boost solenoid that is popular, I know that I am going with that when I decide to switch mine out.
