Evo X, Mustang 5.0, or 350z Nismo

Hello everyone, this is my first post on this forum, I currently own a 2013 Mitsubishi lancer (non evo) and decided I need some more power. This upcoming summer I will be buying a new car with a budget of 20-25k. I am stuck between chosing an evo x, a 2013 mustang gt, or a nismo 350z. I live in the mountains so the handling on the car matters. I would chose the evo but the only problem I have is that I do not like the interior on my current car, so it leads me to believe that I wont like it in the evo. I have rode in a mustang gt (2005) and I enjoyed how low the car sat, and it handled surprisingly well, because it had coil overs, but I also enjoy turboed cars. If you can provide me with your opinion on these cars and whether it is a worthy purchase. Thanks

Hey man welcome. I have driven all three before and these are my opinions on each. 1st of all three are fun cars to drive. The evo would have more space overall being a 4 door compared to the other two. The evo X also felt smoother and more stable at higher speeds compared to the mustang gt and 370z. The mustang gt and 370z felt a lot more "torqueish" and responsive with the throttle though. I can tell you the evo is more forgiving when it comes to those oh crap moments. The mustang and 370z were very slide happy being rwd vs the awd of the evo of where you felt a little more confident in the corners unless you do like to slide from time to time. Like I said these are just my opinions but in all aspects these are all nice cars just depends on what and how you will be using it.

Evo X > Mustang > 350z.
mostly due to how each of those cars age.

Welcome & thanks for joining us & asking the question

If youre looking for max grip & handling the AWD will most always out do the RWD IMO

In my opinion, if you want something practical for your area, I would recommend the Evo just because its AWD and has 4 doors. If you want something easy to mod to get lots of power, I recommend the 5.0. Put in $6000 and you can push over 700 whp that can also be daily driven (not in icy weather).

NOTE: I disagree with Evolved Boost on the 5.0 not feeling stable at high speeds. I have pushed all my Mustangs over 150 mph and feel very planted. My opinion on the Mustangs are based on my current ownership of the following:
2013 Boss 302
2013 Boss 302 Laguna Seca
2011 GT500 (not a 5.0 but still in the Mustang family)
2014 GT500 (not a 5.0 but still in the Mustang family)

Love the line up there Inconsiderate. I never said the 5.0 wasn't stable though, I just said it didn't feel "as smooth and stable" as the evo. I drove a gt500 convertable (not a 5.0 but still in the mustang family) a while back and at around 100-110 that thing felt sketchy as hell. Could be the fact that I knew it was only a rag over my head and not metal .

My mistake and thank you for the compliment.

The convertible GT500 flexes a lot which is why they governed the top speed on them.

Those are my collectibles in hopes they will go way up in value later. The 2011 GT500 is signed by Carroll Shelby before he passed away with all the proper documentations. The Bosses are both signed by Parnelli Jones. Trying to get a daily now which is why I am on this forum.

Now that's what you call an investment. That's great that you got to meet racing legends and even got your cars signed by them. All you need now is a Roush {thumbup}.

Maybe in the future, but I am actually in the market for a Daily and considering an Evo 8/9/X.

Get the EVO X if it's a daily car. Otherwise, get the Mustang or the 350z "Nismo" if it's your second car.

4 doors, all of your basic needs in a car taken cared of, relatively "fast", relatively "cheap", and your grocery getters ^_^. What can go wrong? But good luck!
