Welcome aboard:thumbup:
Yeah, that 9 is a sure unicorn. Looks totally stock & only 29K miles Welcome & for sure no more lurking =) Great to have you on the boards w/us (im a 9 owner as well) Joe  |
Thanks Joe! I've never owned a boosted car. Only sat shotgun in my friends WRX years ago. Hitting boost is a totally different feeling than hitting vtec! Haha

Certainly nothing wrong w/that VTEC valve train (it works!). Those RSX's work really well for a NA car

Welcome! Nice score! I'd like to own another Evo, if I could find one all stock, like that. Enjoy!
|
Yeah man, I got lucky. I was looking for an Evo IX or A gen 2 Eclipse GSX. Pretty much was set on traveling all over the states to go find the vehicle I wanted until I saw this one available in my city.

Wow wow. I must say, I’m jealous! I’ll trade you for a X with less miles! Haha. Jk.... kinda! Great find man! 👍🏽 Personally I really love graphite greys! Hold on to her for dear life! Digging the rsx too! Welcome !

Congrats OP, I can tell you first hand that you will love that car. It will hold it's value extremely well as long as you continue to take care of it. This forum should answer any questions you have about the car, most of the time better than the dealership. My friends and I threw too large of a turbo on an Rsx type S with wavetrack LSD and it was a fun car after 7k rpm XD
|
It just makes me grin ear to ear while driving it. I'm getting used to the clutch compared to the Type-S clutch.
That's the plan is to keep it well maintained & enjoy the heck out of it! The previous owner already got to 30k mile service done. I've ordered the service Manual CD, in cabin filter & gas door spring clips. I will be refreshing everything that needs it for now. Like the Brembos are little faded & restore the faded trim pieces etc.

Thanks blue lion! Haha I like the X, but I love the IX's! All my cars I have owned have been gray or black. This is actually my 1st non Honda/Acura. But I've always had love/interest in an Evo/2g Eclipse.

My personal opinion is the car looks great as it is. The jdm bumper looks nice but wasnt our spec. If i was you i would be looking into a ceramic coating or clear wrap to keep her looking good.

Thanks man! I'm going back and forth about keeping it stock vs modding it. I do plan for a jdm rear in the future. But making sure I keep the US rear bumper aswell. I'm in no rush though. As of right now. Mod money is going to my RSX, besides replacing wear & tear items on the Evo. Some interior pieces has scratches. Steering wheel is separating. Nothing too major. It just will annoy me. Why is the OEM steering wheel so expensive! I purchased an OEM modded to flat bottom steering wheel for my RSX. If I like that once installed. I may get one for the Evo aswell. |
WOW that is a unicorn! Almost my Evo's twin, other than a few modifications on mine. Congrats!

I thought mine was a unicorn when I bought it 3 years ago with 70,000 on the dash, but DAMN you got lucky! Graphite Gray for the win! Love it. Congrats

man, i WISH mine was as clean as yours! i have so many issues with mine that it hurts to think about. my evo's previous owner did it, or me, no favors. at least i get to fix it to my liking? but i can only imagine what it'd be like to have a clean slate like yours!

Thanks! & that sucks about the issues. Hopefully you can quickly get things sorted out. I'm having an internal struggle myself. Half of me is like keep it stock/clean since it's so rare. Other half is telling me to mod it to my liking.
although modding these to go faster is always a blast  |
^Agreed. Do anything you want with it except this. I cannot respect this lack of concern for other peoples lives. I cannot offer tech support or be friends with these people.

It's cool to see the original gurney flap and front air dam extension intact. Those seems to be the first things that fall(fly?) off with the higher mileage MR's, like mine lol

Congrats on your car. I would also be happy to buy a new car this month but I don't have a driver's license yet and it might be problematic. can I get a car without a license? There are some really good offers in the area and I don't want to miss the opportunity and get an EVO like this for a price lower than usual. I know it is generally not possible to purchase a car without having a valid driver's license. In most places, you will need to have a driver's license in order to register and insure a vehicle. But maybe there are any exceptions to the rule?

love the stock mint mr. mine is an exact twin
i cant stop driving it |
