Evo Newbie from Malaysia

HI All,

Greetings from Evo newbie in Malaysia! I just got this yellow 2005 Evo 9 GSR in pretty much stock condition aside from the wheels, coil over suspension, Trust Ti exhaust, and some other very minor mods. Not planning to mod too much on it since its going to be my daily driver, so just targeting maybe 320-330whp with good reliability. Looking forward to learn a lot from all Evo masters here.

Thanks, the color is pretty loud but yeah I also love it, especially since I've also never owned a yellow car before! It took me quite a while to find this since Evos is not that common here and they're mostly pretty modded already.

Welcome and thank you for the intro and photo's.

That is a gorgeous 05' Evo 9! Do you compete in car shows?

Thanks.
No I don't compete in car shows. I just like my cars neat and clean looking, that's all.

Changed rims from the fake Thailand CE28 to this original Racing Hart CP-S10 size 18x9j +21, fits perfectly lined up with the fenders at -1.4° camber. Also installed carbon skirt extensions.

I thought the evo 9 was only introduced in 2006.

In Japan it originally came out in 2005.

What's it like driving in Malaysia, do you have many canyon runs?

Well, the good thing is not many speed traps and even if you got shot by one, you can still ignore the fines, and it's still cheap too! The bad thing is Kuala Lumpur sometimes can get quite jam during rush hours so driving manual cars becomes a bit of a chore.

Yes we do have some favorite twisty canyon roads which many car clubs often take for fun spirited driving, most popular are Karak Highway up to Genting Highland, Ulu Yam, and Cameron Highland.
