$2500 and a Stock 02 OZ Rally!!
This is how its going to go. I am purchasing an 02 OZ Rally at the end of July and I will also have around $2500 from the sale of my old Bimmer. What should I do with the cash to mod the Lancer? Any ideas would be appreciated. I am thinking that sometime in the future (after a raise at work) I would add a turbo to the engine. Come on guys!! Lets hear what YOU would do to the Lancer!!

I was actually looking for some detailed responses. What are your favorite mods? What brand rims do you like? What is your favorite tire? Things like that.

You could do what my first performance mods are going to be...
Intake
Exhaust
RMR Strut bar
Z-Rated tires (although you'd probably want to get better rims for them)
High flow cat
That will give you a nice little OZ

i dont believe u have to do anythign with the clutch, just get an exhuast, which u can have your local muffler shop make for u for under 300. My custom catback cost me 310 with my ractive muffler. SO i woudl say save up the extra 1000-1500 and get the turbo! I know i'm saving up now for it and i wish i woudl have saved an extra grand instead of spenind my money on all my little mods

So what? Figure like 3 or 4 grand for the turbo? Jesus!! Might as well shoot some NOS in that puppy too!! I don't even have the first clue as how to install it. I would have to pay a reputable mechanic to do it. I might just have to go for the mini-mods. It would be a while before I saved enough up for the Lancer.

2500, proformance first.
get an intake (150-210)
exhaust (the GReddy is nice 500-600?)
high flow cat (70)
rpw race headers with downpipe (500)
that would make a nice lil lancer... plus you can take the stuff off easily if you wanted warrenty work.
then you have about a grand for, tint and rims.
after that... save up for body kit and different grill.

shaem on some of you guys. You know that a $3000 turbo costs more than $3000. If and when you do get a turbo, you'd better be doing pistons, intercooler, and engine maintenance along with it, or you can kiss the engine goodbye.
Anyway, depending on your taste (balance of show and go), I like Enkie RF1 or Motegi MR7 rims, you should get an intake (RMR or RRM is my top suggestions), exhaust (no suggestions there, yet). Definitely lower the car soon. And if you're into audio, put a system in it. That should take care of the better part of $2500

I agree, if you go turbo, you might as well make some other mods (pistons, clutch, exhaust, etc..). If you decide to go with basic mods, I would consider a new intake, exhaust, header, short shifter for starters.

Tein springs 17 in rims sway bar throw on an exhuast of your choosing and leave the motor stone stock. Get a nice head unit that plays mp3s and mid size amp and 1 ten so you dont rattle your new car to death.
Once your warranty runs out then go turbo the only reason I say to leave the motor stock is to avoid warranty hassles. Suspension components warranty will be voided with the springs.
