Awesome thread and thank you for taking the time to add all of the great info. I recently became the proud father of an Evo. She was born 2006 and she is white and is a GSR. But really, it has had one owner and never been molested with mods. I checked all of the bolts and screws for sings of torsion. The Car fax listed that the car was maintained very well and was brought in for an oil change every 4K miles. I'm still a bit nerves when I drive it because of the different sounds I hear like valve ticking and such but one in particular is a metal rotating screaching sound that comes from the drive belt area. It goes away after a couple of minutes once the car is warmed up. I've since had all the fluids changed and got a new drive belt put on but still get the sound. I think it may be my timing belt or one of the pullys. If anyone has some insight please hit me up. Thanks.

New 8 owner..already messed up 😢

Just bought my evo 8 yesterday and already ran into major problem..before purchase, never got the chance to hear it from a cold start so this morning i go to start the car up for work and the serpentine belt squeaks (goes away after warmed)..when i got home, my genius self decides to spray some belt dressing on it and the damn thing spins off and breaks a piece of the timing cover off and it lands inside the cover itself..next thing my motor starts ticking pretty loud..im thinking watever piece that got in there caused my timing to jump and i may now have bent valves..i dont have a clue where to start on a 4g63 but i been building bseries honda for the past decade or more..give me some pointers guys..im about to go cry in the corner..norcal resident

Been following a lot of threads without actually registering, so figured I might as well register and enjoy all the fun features of being a member here.

Evo 9
Still figuring out what all the previous owner did
