Question Switchblade Key?

I was just wondering if anyone tried to change their key from the standard key and remote to the switch blade remote. If no one has would this be feasible.
Thanks in advanced.

we discussed this a long time ago.

problem being you need a "blank" remote, or someone who works w/ electronics to custom make one.
the key cutting part is the easy part, the integrating electronics is the hard part.

If I remember right, we were waiting for Mitsu to make a switchblade type key for an upscale model somewhere so we could crib it, but they never did.

OH.. I forgot to mention.. that the JDM IX key's remote is way smaller than the us one. so you would probably need one of those to make a switchblade feasable. unfortunately, that would make one very expensive key!!!!

Gotcha, that definitely stinks but ill follow your JDM key i like that idea more than handling remote and key. Do you have trunk release as well?

NO trunk release... I was looking at my extra IX key, and trying to see if it's feasible to make it into a switchblade key....

Wow that lotus guy is ridiculous, let me know how progress on the switchblade key works on yours, I am working on buying an evo this summer, it will be an Evo IX so maybe that would help. As long as the price isnt crazy id pay it. cool to be unique

There is a guy who did it with an Evo X/08+ Lancer/08 Eclipse key fob. I'm thinking of getting an extra key fob and trying my hand at this. He did lose the trunk release and panic button features though. But honestly I could live without those just to have one of these keys. It gets old getting stabbed in the leg when you sit down wrong :/ Plus I just bought a new dremel and I'm itching to dremel some stuff lol.
