New Evo Owner from Amsterdam(NL)
Hello,
My name is Shaffy and I’m 22 years old. First of all I would like to apologize for any mistakes in grammar and/or spelling since English is not my primary language. I promise u that I will do my best to make this topic, easy to read.
I live in Amsterdam (Yes the city with the red lights district and a lot of marihuana and hasj), this is the capital of the Netherlands. The Netherlands is a very tiny country located next to Germany and Belgium.
I’m a student, I study automotive engineering. Since a few months I own a beautiful red Evo 8 EDM equipped with AYC/ACD(OEM). But more about the car later on…
My hobby’s are building scooters (I think u call them mopeds) and I like to work on my car.
Some of my projects are shown below:
I still own this one…
Here in the Netherlands u are allowed to ride a scooter(moped) when u reach the age of 16.
For cars the age is 18. So that’s why a lot of young kids here first drive a scooter and then move on to a motorbike or car…
So for me it all started when I became 18 and got my drivers license. My first car was a Honda Civic (EK3) 1.5 SOHC Hatch. It was a really good car for a beginner. I loved the car… But I got bored because of the power(that wasn’t there)…
After this I bought an Opel Speedster...
This is a roadster with a 2.2 Litre engine putting out 147HP on a 800kg car. (I know I use metric units…). 0-100km/h(0-60mph) in 5.9 seconds.
Well after the speedster came the Evo VIII.
Well after awhile I put some mods on the car. The modlist will follow below the pictures…
Modlist:
Previous owner installed:
ECUTEK
Scorpion 2.5" Catback
I installed:
8000K Xenon kit
Carbon front lip
MR Vortex Generator
Ferodo DS2500 brakepads front
Invidia 3" Test pipe
AEM UEGO AFR kit
Megan 3" Downpipe
Schroth 4 point safety harness
Greddy Turbo Timer
Carbon exhaust heat shield
Mods waiting for assembly (in approx 1000 miles):
Evo 9 Turbo
GSC S2 Camshafts with Protech single valvespring kit
Exedy Stage 1 Organic clutch
Custom made carbon sideskirts (similar as rexspeed skirts but with a couple of mods)
Near future mods:
INJEN full intake
Tephramod MAF -> MAP
Forge OR HKS dumpvalve
Next year mods:
18” Rims (still not decided which ones)
Performance friction 2pc brake discs
Suspension tuning (Öhlins or Proflex?)
And a lot more!!!

It's just a coincidence... By the way my brothers Evo (9) is an USDM spec. He has a smaller license plate, thats a sign that the car is imported from the states or Japan. In this instance the car is from the states. But now you do mention it, I have never seen an evo here with a sunroof . Guess that people don't want it because the sun doesn't shine that often!
