Evo 8 / 9 Exhaust

Will an evo 9 exhaust fit in an evo 8 car?

I did a quick search on here and couldn't find the answer.

Let me know if it is possible without too much work.

Thanks,
Dan

Doesn't the IX exhaust have a different downpipe because of the transfer case being different?

Are you thinking about the evo 9 jdm exhaust being different due to the rear bumper being shorter?

ya i believe this is true.

If you have ACD, you can't use a TBE from an 03/04 evo that doesn't have the ACD, because the downpipe part of the exhaust won't clear the ACD.

It all depends on whether or not you have a jdm bumper. Also have to make sure the downpipe will clear the acd

It should be fine since you don't have the ACD to get in the way of the DP.

just to clear things up, its downpipe section is different from 03 to 04. 05 and 06 model is same downpipe. CAT section also changed (secondary o2 placement) cat-back is same throughout 03 to 06.

having JDM rear bumper or not typically is not part of this question as no car comes with JDM obviously. any exhaust will fit regardless of which bumper, but JDM exhausts are slightly shorter and fit better on JDM rear bumper but its pure aesthetics.

All catback exhaust fits the 8/9. However, the DP is different due to the ACD clearance. As for the cat/test pipe it will fit the 8/9 too!

Just to confirm I did get the evo 9 exhaust fitted to my 8 but the downstream oxygen sensor location must be different because the harness is not long enough.
