Hey guys bought some NGK plugs to hopefully get rid of my sputter while in boost i hear it is probably the spark plugs. i got the NGK BPR7ES-11 is that any different then the usual BPR7ES people say to get?? i was wondering what tthe gap is that i should gap the plugs at? any help is much appreciated thanks

The -11 plugs are the same plugs, just come pre-gapped differently.

What plugs were in your car and for how long? What were they gapped to?

im not sure they are the plugs that came in my car. never thought to look at them. when i hit full boost my car almost like backfires/ sputters and i read another thread and he was having the same problem changing his plugs helped him. but i just took one of the plugs to measure it and it is gapped at .035..... haha i used a feeler guage i dont have a gapper on me atm... what do i do?

Gap your new plugs to the high-end of factory spec which is .024". .035" is a huge gap for these cars so that either means the spark plugs are junk or the previous owner who installed them isn't a very bright guy

No the new plugs the ngk bpr7es-11 plugs are gapped above. 030 im just guessing .035... hah

just go to the parts store and buy a gapper..(not that coin one, thats junk...a real one w/ the wire loops for gap sizes..) and gap it yourself...then u have a tool for next time...OR...get the right ones that are gapped right..but then if u ever need to check the gap u still have to buy the tool...

I just checked the gap is. 037 and I can't regap them I have been trying they wont budge... and none of my stores have these plugs

Try harder I think .28 is like the width of a penny so gap it to a penny ull be alright

the coin ones if its a platinum plug or any of those special kind of plugs just mashes the material down because its just a tiny little pin in the center of the cathode and makes a bigger gap than ur looking for..
