2008 GSR, May 2008 build date, purchased in March of '09.

25k miles and a daily driver for over 3 years now.

Only mods have been Cobb AP and an HKS drop in filter. I switched back to the stock filter recently after blowing my 2nd MAF sensor. I also swap to winter wheels/tires. I have no idea if the timing chain has stretched, but the car runs flawlessly with no CELs, and I am never dissapointed. I change the oil every 3.5k, and don't abuse it.

The next owner will make out pretty well, once I decide to pull the trigger on an S4.

actually all chain stretches.... Best example for everyone is the Bike chains. LOL That is a nature of the chain designs. That is why they did go to the belts before the manufacturers...
Anyway , until you dont get a warning light you are fine. I am not sure who got a warning light yet. I didnt hear about that anything.

I have a 2008. The chain stretched and was replaced at aprox 60000KM. Warranty covered it, but I was accused of everything in the book before they finally changed it. While the car was apart I changed the clutch and changed all fluids as well. No problems since

~40k here, 2nd owner 08 GSR with a few mods. Have had no problems in the 6 months of ownership. Unknown timing chain condition (no news is good news?) Upon purchase, changed all fluids (tranny, diff, t-case). All parties are happy campers.

08 with 19k miles on it and no major problems at all. Had a prob with the CMC and replaced it. Just the minor recalls that were released when the car first came out. Replacing the brakes in the spring for the first time. Also prob gonna check out the timing chain and replace it if I have too.

08 with 24k on the body, 1k on the motor(nothing really left stock on the car) Timing chain was inspected and was fine, still using the original timing chain. Had to change the CMC(didnt fail on me, just upgraded with the clutch) and thats pretty much it

I am rocking one of the first batch of MR's to Canada and its been not to bad for maintenance and was nothing but fun and problem free on a recent 16,000km (10,000mile) trip from Canada down to Key West, Florida and back

2008 MR
75,000km (46,600miles) as of Feb 14, 2012
No timing chain issues yet (as I knock on wood)

Failures/Issues
1. AYC/ACD pump failed at 18,000km (11,200miles)
2. First transmission lasted until 25,000km (15,500miles). Leaking oil
3. AYC/ACD pump failed again 73,000km (45,300miles)

Just traded my 08 gsr with 42000. Never had a problem but it's never seen the track! I did however drive the hell out of it all the time.
