evo clutch sucks
just bought a 2011 evo x, traded my 06 STI in for it. Love the car other than clutch. Hard to get a quick launch! how to fix this? replace clutch? what kind? any recommendations will help?

The 06 WRX STI is a nice car. It is the direct rival to the EVO IX. I think the 06 WRX STI is the last great STI although the newer models look pretty mean .
I have seen some of those things get pretty scarey. I think you have made a pretty even trade getting rid of it for the EVO X. The X has all kinds of new tech in it but the 06 STI has the street creds.
You can get pretty much any aftermarket clutch but launching is going to strip the meat off of it unless you get some crazy expensive racing clutch but then you can't D/D easily. Lots of people here go with the Exedy Twin Disc. I grabbed an ACT Street Clutch and am happy.

1) Learn to drive the car
2) I am the third owner of a 9 year old evo 8. 80,000KM's on the clock and still on the stock clutch, many many dozens of autocrosses and daily drives. If you are wondering how, see number 1.
