LICP intall gone wrong

I figured this would be an easy install but it's taking quite some time and I keep having issues.

Anyway, this is an Ebay IC pipe which I figured would be fine since it's just a U bend and a another simple bend. I used to coupling and band clamps it came with.

first time i hit boot at almost WOT, a coupling popped off and the band went flying somewhere.

This is what i ordered
http://www.ebay.com/itm/130547383159...84.m1439.l2649

anyways, it does not come with couplings as pictured, the one going into the car does not reduce into a smaller diameter.

Question 1: where can I find a good coupler that reduces from the IC pipe to the pipe that goes into car?

Question 2, should I just keep using the band clamps?

"Do it right or do it twice"...or in your case a third time.

Question 1: STM sells all different coupler variations.

Question 2: Get T-Bolt clamps.

spray a little hair spay inside the coupler. This will help stick the pipe to the coupler and help prevent them blowing off like this.

Hmm that is strange. That one looks similar to the AMS licp. I would suggest better couplers. Samco makes great couplers. If you choose to go with a better licp, I would recommend the ETS licp. Fitment is perfect and you wont have to worry about the pipe blowing off.

Some pipe bracing also goes a long way. All my piping is braced so its impossible for it to pop off. Failing that the suggestions above should help.

That is what I would suggest, quality clamps and couplers. Perfect fitment, and NOT eBay.

That happened to me a couple times and the car couldn't even move 5 feet. Just buy some quality T-bolt clamps and get a bracket welded to the pipe at the intercooler n bolt to one of the stock mounting points to keep it in place. Make sure the clamps are tightened well also!
