You can get apagan01 to ship you AMSOIL if you want to continue running that.

Oil with zinc additives if you're running a journal bearing or stock turbo is over kill as far as I understand it.

Chad from CBRD uses Amsoil 10w-30 OE or 10w-40 Premium protection in their street cars.

How long have you been running 10w-40 for? I'm only at 34,000 miles I just don't want to work the motor to hard with heavier 40w instead of the 30w even though its only 10w difference I should be fine. All the professional tuning shops in my area say its okay to run the 10w-40 and that's all they use on all the services even on stock motors.

Okay cool thanks man. Yeah someone said once you go up a weight like that to stick with it like you can't go back to using 10w-40.

Would Brad Penn 10w-40 Partial Synthetic or REDLINE SYNTHETIC MOTOR OIL 10W40 be better for my car?

2005 MR full bolts on, stock motor, 79k miles, E85.

I read through this a couple times and, if I understand what I'm reading correctly, this is what I found:

AMSOIL Z-ROD Synthetic Motor Oil seems to be the resounding preference of the people who responded here. It looks like it only comes in 10w30 and 20w50 (correct me if I'm wrong). Of these two weights, 10w30 seems to be the resounding weight preference. 20w50, if I understand correctly, is specific to the needs to someone who has modded the car, though some clarification on exactly what mods and differences would cause a lean towards this weight would be nice to hear. Either way, it doesn't sound like too many people use it.

One thing I'd like to point out (and would love to hear more explanation on) is that apparently if your car has been using 10w40 for a while, you don't want to go back to 10w30. I'm not very knowledgeable about motor oil and the details of the reactions to different weights, so I don't know off hand why this is, but I figure it is worth noting. 10w40, however, is the second most mentioned weight, followed by 20w50, and then one person mentioned 0w30.

TL;DR:
AMS Z-ROD 10w30 Synthetic Motor Oil
