NEW member: 2006 wicked white Evo IX

Well, FINALLY after trolling and creeping the Evo community for two years, this is MY introduction thread. Today I picked up my wicked white Lancer Evo IX in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota from a private seller. My name is Mike and i'm from Virginia, MN.

I've been a member of quite a few of the forums both local and elsewhere. I own a 2000 electron blue Honda Civic Si with 7900 original miles, a 2002 sonic blue Ford Focus SVT and a 2008 grabber orange Ford Mustang completely cloned into a ROUSH stage 3. I'm no stranger to performance/fast/handling cars... and I always look forward to learning and sharing stories about all things related to the automotive world via the local forums!

Ive REALLY wanted one of these cars for quite a while now, and after bidding my time, waiting and being patient for the exact right car, I think Ive found it. It's a wicked white Evo IX GSR with 31K on it, and IMO looks absolutely spectacular! I'm not into the STI world, IMO this car is more rare, better looking and a better performer, hands down.

These are the current mods:

AMS Front mount intercooler
Injen Intake
Tanabe turbo back exhaust (no cat)
Myne headers
GFB BOV (Adjustable)
Tein mono flex coilovers
RO JA R2-5 rims
Slotted brake rotors
RAZO shift knob

Car is AMAZING to drive, but the coil overs make it a VERY rough ride on our miserable Minnesota roads! I plan on keeping the car as is, but I NEED to have something done with the suspension and I'm making plans to have Ron from RSMotors to dyno and tune the car. The E85 conversion is DEFINITELY in the future for this Evo... Bet on that!

I had the car checked out by White Bear Mitsu... Thank you to the guys at WB Mitsu, Nice guys who have quite the knowledge on these glorious cars! Unfortunately the inspection by WB revealed that I need a new bushing for my control arm... NOT a cheap fix, but it will get done.

Enough talk... it's time for pictures!! Thanks to all the people I've already met in the Evo community who have been so gracious and wonderful in helping me pick out this car!!

true... stock cars are almost impossible. But I did find one with "tasteful" mods that I would have done anyway... So, I saved about 10K in mods alone. I do have a few things I have to change up... I do like the Evo VII tails...

Patience does indeed pay off... if you bid your time, and really KNOW what you want and what your looking for, you can find it... and amazingly, I didn't have to go far to get it! I assumed I'd have to go out of State, like so many others do, but this one was in my State. Words don't describe how ecstatic I am about my choice, my purchase, my patience and my car!
