Hi everyone! Sold my IX & bought an X.
Hi everyone. I'm not new to this forum, have been a member of evom.net since I got my first evo 8. But I never really introduced myself.
I started with a 03' TB Evo, then sold it because I could no longer afford the payments and insurance at the time. Finally got a better job and bought a bone stock IX MR SE TB. Drove all the way down to Virginia from New York to pick her up.
I recently sold the IX last week and bought a 11' Evo X MR PB.
I'm seriously starting to have sellers remorse. Has anyone here sold their evo 8/9 for an X and regret their decision?
I had a couple questions about the X:
1. What body pieces are aluminum on the MR version w/ touring package?
2. Is it normal for the glove box to open up extremely slow?
3. Is there a way to change the "see you" message when turning off the car?
4. Do you guys have problem seeing over the seats when reversing?
Thanks in advance for your replies.
Here's a picture of my old IX and my new X.
First thing I did was tint the windows when buying the X.

Good luck man, I'm sure you will get use to it and get over the sellers remorse. : )

But with as many VIIIs and IXs reaching high mileage now, it shouldn't really have been a concern. 4RETECH is at something like 340k miles (give or take) on his VIII, and someone else had put 180k miles on his IX before selling it (and regretting it).

Nice pick up man!
My glove box just opens right up but I do have a 2010.
Why would you want to change the "See You" message? I like it
If you have a problem seeing over the seats when reversing you can get a back up camera assuming you have nav.

I had a couple questions about the X:
2. Is it normal for the glove box to open up extremely slow? Yes, its a good feature rather than having the whole thing abruptly open when the pull the latch.
4. Do you guys have problem seeing over the seats when reversing? One of the few things the CT9A did better was visibility. Reversing takes some getting used to and the the huge mirrors get in the way on tight left hand turns.

It's funny that you mention that. I waited over two weeks to purchase the car from the seller. Because the seller decided to pay off his loan in its entirety before selling the car to me which caused me to wait over two weeks for him to get the pay off letter from his bank and the clear title from the DMV. When he finally called me to tell me he had received all the paperwork I drove up there that day to pick her up! And on my way home driving her down the windy mountain roads of where he lived I literally drove straight into this:
