New Evo Owner - enjoying the car

Hi all - just picked up a very clean 2011 Evo X MR touring. Fun car with 332 wtq and 327 awhp tuned by AMS.

It is replacing my current DD, a 1998 Dodge neon R/T, heavily modified for autocross, and augments my dedicated race car, a 1997 Dodge neon ACR, also heavily modified for autocross. I plan to occasionally track the Evo and occasionally autocross. I realize I'm in for some expensive work to make the car reliable on the track and as I add power, but the response in power from this car versus my previous is amazing. I just hope I can get the chassis to feel as good - a tough thing with an extra 1500 pounds compared to the race car and 1000 compared the DD. But, there seem to be great options for suspension out there vs what I could do with the neons.

Let the fun begin!

enjoy it. since you have the mr, make sure you tune the sst as well. a lot of mr owners just tune their ecu and not the sst. thats like having a supermodel as your wife but you don't **** her. makes no sense.

MAPerformance is near me... are they a good bet, or do I need to go to an SST specialist?

Are you on evomn.net yet? I'm unsure if there are any SST tuners in MN but you should also check RS motors and DB performance as tuning shops.

We've done our fair share of SST cars We've got an employee that owns a Ralliart as well. You're more than welcome to email my tuner, Jordan, with any questions you might have, we would be happy to help!

there you have it op, not only are they a vendor on this forum but the freakin president of map has responded to your post (or somebody is using his account). i'd say that's a good indication of what kind of company map is.

Thanks Chris - I have some other work I need done as well, so I am likely to call the shop.

The car gets more fun to drive the more I drive and learn it. Traction control in the snow is a no no for instance.

Chris,

Thanks - the shop is great. I've been working with Adam on the sales side. Did some maintenance work and put a front sway bar in. The fun stuff is in the works:
  • MAP Ef2.5
  • Ported/ coated intake and exhaust manifolds
  • Fuel system upgrade
  • Tune
  • Also having the SST build up with Kozmic, but Adam is setting it up for the shop to pull the transmission and send the basket.
Once all the parts are in, I'll drop the car and you all can have your way with it. I'm looking forward to the new ride!

Congratulations on building a great shop - highly recommended!
