The RS has no creature comforts, you can add most of them in the "urban jungle package". The RS also has a helical limited slip front dif., no ABS, and no H.I.D. lights. I believe the GSR is the standard Evo. The RS-6 a six speed maybe but, I haven't heard anything about that.

EVO VIII GSR is the standar EVO mostly focused for all of us. It has all the toys inside of it like A/C, PW, Standar gear box (6-speed), Active Yaw Control and it´s obviously heavier than the other two.
EVO VIII RS-5 & RS-6 are quiet different from the standar EVO GSR as you can see it just comparing the kerb weights: 1320(RS-5) vs 1410 or 1350(RS-6) vs 1410.
There are changes related also to front/rear track, lower fuel tank capacity but major differences are focused in the front differential (LSD for the RS´s), gear box (different gear ratios) and rear differential with the lack of AYC (for the RS´s).
EVO VIII RS-5....5 speed
EVO VIII RS-6....6 speed
EVO RS´s are shod with 15" rims instead of the 17" rims for the GSR.

The Japanesse EVO VIII features all what i wrote above (almost the same for those sent to the European market).
I dont know if 2004 USDM EVO will have the same specs but i hope that becoming true...you´ll really enjoy it!.
