Fyi.

Hello! New to the Evo market but not new to the auto repair industry. As an ASE journeymen technician, I would always recommend getting safety related components repaired. Especially if it relates to airbags. They can be the difference between life and death. If you get the airbag replaced ( under warranty) you won’t about to worry about it being “dangerous”. Disabling the airbag will disable the entire system, leaving all the other airbags and seatbelt tensioners inoperable. As you can imangine that’s a recipe for disaster if anyone gets into an accident that results in an airbag deployment.

It will be a cold day in hell before mitsubishi touches my dash. I plan on removing the airbag myself and leaving it off. I will fool the RCM with a resistor. I will probably swap to an aftermarket steering wheel as well (eliminating that one too)

Sorry, but just saw your post. I have a left hand driver & the AB recall is for the passenger igniter. I un-plugged the passenger side main plug. Access through the glove box. Make sure you disonnect the battery before disabling. The AB warning light will be illuminated on the dash

I had the first recall done. They were kind enough to not touch my ecu but mark down that they did. Unfortunately, my dash now rattles like a bag of cans...But I knew that would happen.
now they want to mess with it again? ****.that.

Dropped off the Evo this morning for the passenger airbag recall that I’ve been postponing. The service tech asked if the car was tuned, glad he asked and was aware of the previous owner issues. Was informed all went smooth.

For the man who has everything

The $12 price tag would be better spent on your fav fast food

Still neat that someone made such an item

After picking up the Evo enjoying the nice drive home there were no issues with rattles or noises others have shared. With my car being pretty close to stock, the techs must have been happy to have seen that I assume.

I have seen people 3d printing them too so if you have access that's also an option. A better solution would be to disable the obd2 port.
