Hi People

Heard few good tings about the forum so thought I would join up. I have been floating around Mlr and evo123 sites for awhile but they seem to be losing there ways as everyone is turning towards fb etc

Anyway I have a Evo 1 which I have had in use since 2010

Shall post some pics very soon

Been using the car as a daily and many blast down the dragstrip aka santa pod and still going strong

well when I got my hands on it she was only running light mods ie Air filter, 3inch turbo back exhaust a uprated clutch and lighten flywheel and that was it she run 277bhp on 10psi.

I got the car for a steal as the head gasket was blown

I replaced that and then the tuning bug started I fitted a ostrich piggy back so I could map the ecu then wound the boost up o 20 psi and ran a 12.1@111mph

But then the engine suffered crank walk so I rebuild the bottom end, Got my hands on another crank which I had hardened to help stop it from walking again, I used evo 8 mr320 piston and rods, arp con rod bolts, head stud conversion, mls gasket, balance shaft delete kit and to top it of a td05 20g

Then I decided to change the ecu for one out of a evo 6 so I could run a 3 port controller. Mapping finished @ 385bhp 370ft lbs running 1.6bar

That was back in 2012 and the engine was still going strong to this day.

Last month I took things further and took the head off fitted new guides bc springs and retainers and a brand new set of Kelford 272's

Used some nice piper cam pulleys so I could have a play with the cams found a nice setting with +2 ex +1 in

Also fitted a custom td05 with a 6sl2 20g 11 blade wheel

I tweaked the map myself, removed some timing and added fuel to get 0 knock and fuelling in the 11.5 range then went for a power run on the local rolling road and she pulled 430bhp @1.6bar

Mine is very light weight compared to a few other early evo's in the uk, There is one running 800+ and a fair few around 500-600 marks
