Question

How reliable are evo 9 on a scale through 1-10 because I'm hearing some bad things and really still want the car

Youre one of our local guys

Ive owned my EvO9 since 2008 & have not had one mechanical failure (engine, drivetrain, electrical). Im fully modded & have tracked my EvO, many, many times
Theres nothing inherently faulty w/the EvO, but requires a mature, mechanically oriented owner to keep them running correctly (no donuts, no aggressive launches etc)
