Smile Hello New Member Here

Hello EVOLUTIONM members,

I'm Earl Jason from California (NEW MEMBER HERE). I drive an Mitsubishi Evo IX MR. I just got it and i have put a lot of time working on the car already. As of now. I'm doing a 5 speed Conversion. But unfortunately I'm missing a 5 speed Wire Transmission Harness specific for EVO 9, I have an EVO 8 5 spd Trans wire harness but the plug won't fit to my Evo 9 engine harness. I just want to ask if anyone can help me out here in order to finish my current project? Any help is appreciated. I will buy your 5 speed EVO 9 transmission harness Part# 8505A037

THANK YOU

Welcome to the board! After a few posts, you will be able to create a listing in the Marketplace. You should be able to find what you need there.

Congrats on the the "new" car!

Gary and Jay are my go-to guys for tuning. You can't go wrong with either.

STM shows they have the 6 speed harness. Call them & ask about the 5 speed (worth a try)

I always shop at STM and ask them about it. They told me that they don't have it in stock. I just noticed that the evo 8 harness and evo 9 5 speed harnesses have the same wiring (Colors matched) just a different plug. Do you think I can make it work by just soldering it. I've read some answers from the 5 speed swap forums here that they used an EVO 8 Harness and modify the wires.

Yep: only difference is the plug. I'd just use a WeatherPak connector and be done with it. That's what I was originally going to do before finding my own harness. Also, there is a company that sells pretty much every single OEM plug out there. All you would have to do is move all the pins over. For the life of me, though... I can't remember who it was.

Thank you Kaj! I just want to make sure. Last night I cut the wires and solder it I used the 6spd Plug actually and It perfectly works fine! I will test drive the car today. I guess this will be good for now until I found a real Harness for the EVO IX, Thank you so much! I used the EVO 8 Harness and EVO 9 6 Speed that plugs in to my engine harness.
