what can I do to learn more about the evo?

As the title states above, is there anything I can start to learn more about the evo? Such as the engine, what to fix, how to keep it running, just general stuff. I’m still learning about it but not sure where a good start would be, I only know a few things about it but certainly a good pointer would be of help. I’d rather do it the right way than the wrong way.

Its best to start with basics. Not sure how much you know about engines in general, but youtube has plenty of good videos. I would start there and just watch people talk about evos and how-to videos.
Then go thru this forum and read read read. Lots of good info here.
Keeping an engine running has more to do with maintenance and not running the engine hard all the time.

This forum will teach you how to do almost everything with the Evo. As a group, Evom has dissected the evolution family from the ground up and found many ways to improve it. I would take a look at the following sub-sections for what you seek.

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...-100-time.html

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...uantities.html

Divide the car into sections so that you can compartmentalize the data. Engine, Drivetrain, Suspension, Electronics, and creature comforts etc. You'll be on your way in no time.

Buy one and play! Then search google, evoM and YouTube.

And make friends with other local evo owners

I forgot to add, STAY AWAY from the "Back Room." Nothing productive ever happens in there. The rules are also very strange....like that feeling you get when you're not sure if you left the garage door open at home.

Some say... that the evom Back Room was inspired by a mob boss playing poker by himself inside a snow sunk cabin along the outskirts of Russia. After spilling his last bottle of Vodka atop the open cylinder head of his freshly built 4G63, he stood up, tossed the block through the wall into the snow outside and cooked fish. Not sure how word got out or how that story relates, but it's here now.

If you live near a reputable tuner, they should be able to input some knowledge to which direction you want. But as everyone has stated, read some posts and watch some Youtube videos (reliable videos at least lol).
