New BBY evo 8 in town -- Long island NY

Hey guys just got my first 04 Evo 8 in October 2016. Been a long journey thus far already with lots of unfortunate problems but we are sticking it through together - "in sickness and in health" lol.

hey Joe, appreciate your welcome!. yeah i guess u can say im being optimistic, its been burning a whole in my pocket (or rather on my credit cards) but i try to keep focused on the light at the end of the tunnel. after i got my car it turned out that i needed to do the oil pump and so i did the timing and water pump too at that time. about a week or 2 later i had to swap out the rusty front subframe, had to also replace a lower control arm and endlinks. then about a week later i had to swap out my driveshaft cause of the seal, 2 weeks after that i had a leaking head gasket, and seized front caliper; built the head rebuilt the brake system and installed coilovers and sway bars- front and rear, also had to do my intercooler piping due to worn out OEM piping and upgraded to speed density. Then 3 days after repairs and tune, i spun my balance shaft bearing and now im building the block currently lol... u can see how my pockets are dying lately!! again though im keeping focused on the light but my wanted "semi-stock" daily driver has officially turned into a full build lol

Yes, that is a bit of repair work, but as you noted, staying focused on the end result. Would like to see some pics of what youve done. This almost qualifies for our build/project forum

Being a NY car & if it was driven the weather, sped up some of these wear issues

Thanks for posting & stay active on the EvOM boards (daily)

at this point i think it 100% qualifies for the build thread lol i just need more posts i think to post there + the time to sit down and start the thread! additionally to your comment, 100% the NE weather definitely took its toll on my evo but most of the issues fall on the previous owners who simply sad enough treated this car like some Honda Civic, *shakes head* fortunately that era is over and she's now almost entirely restored.

pics on the way

TOP: photo of how she sat when i first picked her up. plasti-dip on the front of the hood, gold XXR rims and sadly looked like our rival STI's lol got rid of those rims really quick and got a mint set of stock rims and tires.
MID: swapped out the rims and had to still look at those disgusting lime calipers (why would anyone ever?!)
Lastly: how she sits now. with fully rebuilt calipers powder coated as close to BBY as possible and lowered with coilovers. and removed the plasti-dip

more pics coming!
